Day 1 : Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to hotel.

Rest of day is at leisure.

Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2 : Hanoi - City Tour (B)

Depart the hotel for the Temple of Literature. In 1076, Vietnam's first university Quoc Tu Giam was established within a temple to educate Vietnam's royalty, mandarins and members of the elite. The university functioned for an incredible 700 years and its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a fascinating glimpse into Vietnam’s past.

Visit The One Pillar Pagoda, founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049, next. This structure is one of Vietnam’s most iconic temples. Close by is the mausoleum of the historic father figure of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, and the former presidents house on stilts where he lived from 1958 to 1969. His former home illustrates the modesty of this Vietnamese revolutionary. (Viewed from outside; closed Mon and Fri and from Oct-Nov)

Continue to picturesque West Lake and the sixth century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda. From here transfer (or stroll along the lakeside) 700 meters to the nearby Taoist temple of Quan Thanh dedicated to Tran Vu, one of the principal deities in Taoism.

In the afternoon, visit the fascinating Ethnology Museum (closed Mondays), a research centre and public museum exhibiting the ethnic groups of Vietnam. As an alternative to the Ethnology Museum, visit the highly acclaimed Vietnam Women’s Museum. The museum is located near Hoan Kiem Lake and offers wonderful insight into the lives of Vietnamese women.  Displays highlight Vietnam’s vast cultural diversity and educate on the significant role Vietnamese women play in Vietnamese society.  Learn historic and modern-day traditions centered around births, weddings, motherhood, spirituality and more.

Next, visit Hanoi’s Old Quarter, also known as the ‘36 streets’. Take a walking tour through charming Hang Be Market and around Hoan Kiem Lake. This bustling area of narrow streets and alleys is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. It's a great place to explore with plenty of photo opportunities all around.

Finish the day with a Water Puppet show. This is a uniquely North Vietnamese art form depicting scenes from rural life and episodes of national history.  

Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3 : Hanoi - Halong (B/L/D)

Following breakfast leave Hanoi for a 3hr30mins drive to Halong Bay including a 20-minutes stop on the way. Arrive at your jetty in Halong City towards noon and proceed with check-in formalities. After your welcome onboard, a lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay itself. In the afternoon, enjoy some visits and/or activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or just spend some time relaxing on board. Towards the end of the day the boat sets anchor for the night among the karst formations. Dinner is served on board.

Overnight on Halong Bay.

Day 4 : Halong - Hanoi - Sapa (B)

Morning just join Tai Chi Class on sundeck for half an hour and then we will have breakfast. We keep on our excursion and visit Sung Sot cave, fantastic stalactites and stalagmites in all different sides with beautiful natural color. Return to our junk and check out. Enjoy a pleasant cruise back to the pier for disembarkation then drive back to Hanoi.

On arrival Hanoi, we have free time then take an overnight train to Sapa.

Day 5 : Sapa - Trek Sau Chua village (B)

Early morning we get to Lao Cai railway station then transfer to Sapa town. Sapa is a hill station resort built during the French in 1880s and a lovely town located in 1600m above the sea level. Sapa is very famous for hill tribe markets, mountainous and fabulous Hoang Lien Son mountain range in which Fan Si Pang, at a height of 3314 meters above the sea level is considered as the highest peak of Indochina peninsula. We enjoy our breakfast at hotel where we can leave our luggage and refresh before trekking to Sau Chua village, This is Hmong and less-tourist village. Late afternoon we drive back to hotel then check in. Rest of the day is free at leisure  

Day 6 : Sapa - Hanoi (B)

Morning we trek to Cat Cat village for 2 hours then free at leisure. Late afternoon we drive to Lao Cai railway station for an overnight train to Hanoi, en route, we visit Ta Phin, the house of Red Dao people. We also have a chance to visit the border gate between Vietnam and China in Lao Cai city before getting on the train. Dinner is at local restaurant.

Day 7 : Sapa - Hanoi - Hue (B)

Early morning we arrive Hanoi railway station then transfer to Noi Bai Airport for a short flight to Hue. Hue city, a lovely and romantic city located on the bank of Huong River (Perfume River). Hue is the ancient capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945 and famous for the Citadel, Imperial City, Forbidden City and the royal tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty, the last feudal regime of Vietnam. On arrival you are met local guide and driver who take you to hotel then you are free at leisure before doing sightseeing tour in the afternoon.

We start our excursion by taking a boat trip on Huong River to Thien Mu Pagoda which was built in 17th century on the top of the hill overlooking the river and Truong Son mountain range. Then we drive to the Imperial and Forbidden City of Hue, most of the contraction site of a heyday royal dynasty were destroyed during the turmoil of the war for many years but there is still the sense of grace and majestic of the rulers. Entertain Vietnamese royal court music show, a World Intangible Heritage of Humanity and then we drive to the royal tombs, the place was used during both life and death of the Nguyen Rulers. A lovely traditional architecture of royal tomb of King Tu Duc built in three years from 1864 - 1867 is located outskirts of Hue among the fine forest and lakes and ponds meanwhile King Khai Dinh tomb is located in the sill step of Chau E mountain, the tomb is a blend of Western and Eastern architecture style and built in 1920. We finish our day with a visiting to Dong Ba market where you can buy the souvenir, handicraft items, foods and many other things. Return to our hotel then free at leisure. 

Day 8 : Hue - Ho Chi Minh (B)

Today we take our flight to HCM, the largest city in Vietnam. Its former name was Saigon which was well-known as the "Pearl of Far East"  during the French colony and today Ho Chi Minh has become an official name of this dynamic, bustle and hustle city since 1976. There are so many interesting things to see in this city from very early in the morning until midnight. After having our breakfast at hotel, we check out then take a short drive to Phu Bai Airport for our flight.

On our arrival, we take an orientation tour around the town and visit some typical colonial buildings over hundreds of year; Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, the Opera House and City Hall.

Day 9 : Ho Chi Minh - My Tho (B/L)

Today we will enjoy the beautiful scenery in Mekong Delta, hundreds of Canal and River system and the most productive farm in Vietnam. We just take 2 hour drive to My Tho City, which is located in the bank of Mekong River, one of the longest rivers in the world then take the boat cruise to Thai Son Island for visiting fruit farms, bee farms and local handicraft. We not only enjoy the fruit farms an honey tea but also entertain the traditional music show, "Don Ca Tai Tu" which has been selected as the world tangible Heritage of the mankind. Just enjoy a peaceful moment on our rowing sampan under a shady water coconut palm on both sides of canals, a fantastic view of the river, a cheerful smile and the hospitality of the local people, we are awarded to have all of them. On the way back to Ho Chi Minh City, we will have lunch at Mekong Rest Stop restaurant and enjoy local speciality. 

Return to Ho Chi Minh City and free a leisure.

Day 10 : Ho Chi Minh - Departure (B/L)

End of the trip. Just pack up and relax until your departure flight. The guide and driver will pick you up then transfer you to Tan Son Nhat Airport.
