    Itinerary

    Day 1 : Hanoi Arrival

Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to your hotel in town (note that hotel check-in time is 2pm).

The rest of day is at your leisure.

    Overnight in Hanoi.

    Distances and journey time:

    Day 2 : Halong - Hanoi (L/D)

The scenery of Halong Bay where thousands of limestone islands jut out of the emerald sea, sculpted into bizarre shapes is truly an iconic image for Vietnam. An overnight boat trip is the best way to enjoy this Vietnamese must-see. After breakfast leave Hanoi for a 3hr30mins drive to Halong Bay including a 20-minutes stop on the way.

Arrive at your jetty in Halong City towards noon and proceed with check-in formalities. After your welcome onboard, a lunch will be served while cruising towards the bay itself. In the afternoon, enjoy some visits and/or activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or just spend some time relaxing on board.

Towards the end of the day the boat sets anchor for the night among the karst formations. Dinner is served on board.

    Overnight on Halong Bay.

    Distances and journey time:

    Hanoi to Halong Bay (160km):3hrs30mins

    Day 3 : Hanoi - Saigon (B/L)

The sun rises on Halong in the morning and breakfast is served (also brunch on some boats) while the vessels cruises slowly back towards port. Upon disembarkation, your driver will meet you for the transfer to Hanoi.

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature. In 1076, Vietnam's first university Quoc Tu Giam, was established within a temple to educate Vietnam's royalty, mandarins and members of the elite. The university functioned for an incredible 700 years and its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a fascinating glimpse into Vietnam’s past.

Visit The One Pillar Pagoda, founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049, next. This structure is one of Vietnam’s most iconic temples. Close by is the mausoleum of the historic father figure of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, and the former presidents house on stilts where he lived from 1958 to 1969. His former home illustrates the modesty of this Vietnamese revolutionary.  (Viewed from outside; closed Mon and Fri and from Oct-Nov)

Then transfer to airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh City

    Overnight in Saigon.

    Day 4 : Saigon - Cu Chi - City tour (B/L)

Depart Ho Chi Minh City at 0800 in the morning for the drive to Cu Chi district. Leaving the city behind, the scenery changes to views of rice paddies, villagers drying noodles by the side of the road and other scenes typical to southern Vietnam. Arrive and start the visit of the famous Cu Chi Tunnels which consist of an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters (Viet Cong) during both the French and American wars. Start the visit with the Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc sections of the tunnel. Here you can imagine what it was like to be a guerrilla complete with Russian Carbine rifles and AK 47’s on display.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City for city tour. Your program includes the Reunification Hall, formerly known as the Presidential Palace it was towards this modern building that North Vietnamese tanks seized on the morning of April 30 1975, as Saigon fell. This fascinating building is filled with history still fresh in the minds of many. From there stroll (your vehicle will be available at all times) to the major sights of colonial Ho Chi Minh City: the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall. Day 1
    • The Hanoi Tirant Hotel

Tirant hotel has been in operation since the beginning of 2011. The hotel is located at Gia Ngu street which in Vietnamese means Fish Village, that is where fisherman and their family resided. In 1800s, the pond in the middle of the area was occluded, opening up a long new road which went through many different names before its current title of being Gia Ngu. This street was used to be named Tirant (pronounced as “ Tai-rang”) which was the name of a French general officer back in the colonial time. We want to keep our hotel name as easy to remember and as unique as possible, that is why this piece of history was chosen for the hotel name: TIRANT HOTEL
